The early small pinion bearing layshafts are usually worn/damaged from the direct cluster gear bearing contact. This design was improved on the later ‘89-93 models but the parts can not be easily interchanged. This is a new steel shaft made to OEM specification, case-hardened, precision ground and polished. Machined for the original retaining bracket.
